Wedding Party Alternative #WeddingWednesday

Y’all I’ve been patiently waiting to share this post and I’m so excited it’s finally published! Kyle and I decided a long time ago we would not have a wedding party. We didn’t want to ask our friends to spend additional money on items they would use once. Plus we’re are planning a destination wedding so there are added costs for travel.

Cutting the wedding party not only saves us on our wedding budget but also helps our guests. Now they can spend that money elsewhere, whether it is on a nice outfit they can wear to multiple events, travel costs, gifts, etc. I personally think it is a lot to ask of someone in today’s society! At the end of the day, the people we would have asked will be sitting in the audience. That alone makes my heart full.

Team Opal Structure

As opposed to the traditional wedding party, I opted to invite a few people to be a part of Team Opal. Planning a wedding takes a team and your family still wants to be included. To me, Team Opal was a great solution because it gets everyone excited and offers those extra hands needed for planning!

People invited to team Opal included our moms (we all know they want to be hands-on) and my best friend. Still have some sense of support has helped tremendously in what we have planned thus far. It has allowed me to bounce several ideas off my team and got my brain juices flowing on items I need to still work through.

There are so many more individuals I would have loved to ask but since we are doing a very small, intimate wedding I opted to leave them as guests to enjoy the experience.

Team Opal Invitation

So instead of just verbally asking Team Opal for their help, I decided to still make it fun! There are a lot of wedding things I plan on skipping but this one was very important to me.

Similar to wedding party proposal boxes, I decided to create a team Opal box. Personally, I think they are SO cute yet simple and sentimental. I included pieces that reflect myself, our wedding theme, and were practical.

Items are Included are:

  • A Personalized Mug with Sage Green Font – Sage is one of our colors
  • A Sage Green Scrunchie – A Necessity IMO
  • Some Smudging Sage – We all need some cleansing
  • A Mermaid Glass Bracelet – Reflects Love, Beauty, Untamed Spirit & Mystery

Took all of these items and packaged them into the cute little boxes below!

If you are looking for non-traditional wedding tips, I would highly encourage something like this!
