Traveling Tips

Happy Tuesday y’all! It’s been so long since I have shared a Travel Tuesday post, but I am back and I am so excited to start sharing with y’all again. Traveling anywhere is nothing short of nerve-wracking, especially if it is out of the country. So this week I am sharing some of my travel tips to make traveling anywhere a little easier on you.

First and foremost… the most difficult tip for anyone to get a grasp of!
Pack lightly and smart

Being a girl this is most definitely the hardest tip I have to give and the hardest tip to follow! It can be so easy to overpack because you wanna make sure you have every picturesque moment outfit readily available! You can read my packing tips blog here. But try to plan the outfits you want pictures in so you don’t over do it on the clothes. Second, if you’re flying try to pack smart. If you have a checked bag, pack as much as you can in that so you don’t have to carry a ton of stuff through the airport. If you only have a carry on then pack it as strategically as possible so you only have one bag. I know it’s difficult but having too much stuff or too many bags to keep track of is overwhelming in itself.

Next big tip I have and the most overlooked is:
Triple check your accommodations

There is nothing wrong with being over ready. Triple check to make sure your flight is at 6:00 am, that there is going to be Uber’s available late at night to pick you up from the airport and that you have the correct address to your hotel. Knowing that you’ve crossed your Ts and dotted your Is takes a lot of weight off the stress of traveling. Another thing to keep in mind is to have backup solutions In case something falls through.

Whether you’re flying or driving this tip is so simple:
Dress comfortably

Sitting in the car for 9 hours is rough as is let alone doing it in skin-tight jeans. Same goes for flying! Another thing to keep in mind is security checks at the airport. All airports in the US require you to take off your shoes, coats, and even things like belts. Be sure to dress in clothes that make this process easier. I know you want to look cute for that “travel photo” trust me I do it too, but there are SO many cute travel outfits like rompers, jumpsuits, leggings with the basic white T… your options are endless!

The last two tips I have can be wrapped in together:
Pack snacks & water bottle and something to occupy you.

Purchasing snacks and drinks can get so expensive while flying and even while driving. If you have an empty travel bottle, take it with you to fill up once you’ve gone through security! Same with snacks, go to your local dollar store and buy a bunch of snacks because you can easily get 5 snacks at the dollar store for the price of one at the airport. While you’re at the dollar store also grab some word searches or even coloring books. Sitting for long periods of time can be so boring so it’s nice to have something that occupies you and makes the time fly by!

These are just some little pointers so many people overlook because they’re already stressed and overwhelmed with the thought of traveling. Yes, it can be stressful but don’t let it be! You are going on vacation so don’t let the flight alone raise your stress!
