RV Living Full Time

HAPPY HAPPY HAPPY Saturday y’all! This post has been in the making for quite some time and I know all of you reading this have been anticipating what’s about to be revealed. But before I share the details, I should probably give y’all a life update on how we got to today. For those of you who don’t know, in August I permanently moved to Virginia Beach to join Kyle and begin my career in Social Media Marketing. I have been blessed with an amazing opportunity to start my dream career in the same area Kyle and I are settling down. So, I got the dream job, living with my man and we’re starting our lives. Sounds great, right? Well, we were missing just one tiny part… a home! 

Kyle and I have gone round and round on what type of place we should stay in. Started with the basic apartment, then we tossed around the idea of renting a house, looked into a few studios, and looked all over the Hampton Roads area. We couldn’t agree on any of them and nothing was sticking out to us. We also really struggled hunting because we could not bring ourselves to waste money on rent when we could potentially be investing our money. So, (this part makes me lol) we thought back to Kyle’s crazy idea on deployment of buying an RV and living in it. We laughed, joked with our families about it, looked into it and finally agreed, why not?

So, here we are proud and beyond incredibly excited to share that we bought ourselves a 2020 Grand Design Travel Trailer that we will be calling home for the next five years.

This path may not be your typical or most ideal way of starting a life but to us, it fits our personalities and lifestyle perfectly. With this opportunity, we get to spend so many nights eating s’mores around our campfire, spend quality time with each other and our families, and just all around have fun. On top of all that, we are now able to save money for our dream home, invest our money into property we will call our own at the end of the term and have the chance to pick up and explore what this beautiful world has to offer.

I was once told that when viewing the beauty of a sunset or a mountain and pause to exclaim an amazed gesture, you are participating in divinity (believing this is a gift from God or a higher power). To us, the start of this new adventure is more than an amazed gesture, because it is truly amazing what God has done for us and is now allowing us to be amazed at the world around us. 

We have already been so overwhelmed with joy and excitement from our families, coworkers, friends and now you. We’ve been dying to share this exciting news with everyone for a few months. As of Thursday, we have officially parked our trailer and are now calling it home. To those who have called us crazy or think our plan is ridiculous… it’s not about what you live in, it’s about who you share the space with. For the next five years, home is going to be where we park it and we can’t wait to share this journey with y’all!
