Happy Friday y’all! Can’t believe we are ending June… WHERE has this year gone? Crazy to think so much time has passed! Life gets crazy sometimes… and I think we all know just how crazy it gets! So I have decided to change my Friday posts to be: Life Hack Friday’s… because, I mean, who doesn’t need a good life hack? I know I sure do sometimes! To start off my first LHF posts, I’m gonna be talking about how to become a morning person… I know dreaded mornings, but they don’t have to be as bad as they sound!
Everyone dreads mornings, especially if you have to wake up early and go to work for nine hours! But why dread them? Your morning is what sets your tone for the day, so why start off on a bad note?
Stay Off Your Phone
First and foremost, STAY OFF YOUR PHONE…. this may be the hardest thing to do but believe it or not, it makes a huge difference in your day! Studies have shown that if you are to leave your phone alone for the first hour, you’re awake (the average time it takes someone to get ready anyway) that you can be 36% more productive throughout your day! That’s a pretty large number especially if you are being 50% productive right now, imagine how much more you’d get done? Set your alarm, if it’s on your phone set it across the room, once your alarm goes off in the morning, get up and go straight to the bathroom! Boom already a step in the right direction!
Refresh Yourself Immediately
Once you’re in the bathroom always wash your face and brush your teeth right away, or at least splash some water on your face. It’ll wake you up and make you feel refreshed! Getting up right away and fully waking yourself up can help make the rest of your morning run smoothly because you aren’t a groggy zombie attempting to get dressed in the dark because you’re running late!
Awaken Your Internal System
After you’ve washed your face and brush your teeth head to the kitchen to start your coffee, tea, breakfast… whatever you normally start your morning with! If it’s something that takes time, great… that gives you the opportunity to wander back to your closet and get dressed or ready for the day! I’d always start my breakfast, get ready and then it would be done by the time I’m finished getting ready! Again with the productivity!
Prepare For Your New Time
When you’re setting your alarm, think about what time you’re actually setting it for! If you know next Monday you need to start waking up at 6 am and you’re used to waking up at 9 am, prepare yourself! Start setting your alarm to wake you up closer and closer to the time you need! That way your body has time to adjust! OR, if you just wanna add more time to your morning, set your alarm for 3 minutes early! Kyle taught me this little trick… I’ve managed to add almost 35 minutes to my morning just by setting my alarm 3 minutes earlier each day!
Set Yourself Up For Success
On top of preparing your alarm and sleep schedule… also, prepare absolutely everything you’ll need for the next day! Pack your work bag, pack your lunch, lay out your clothes, even lay out your make up! My best friend taught me this. If you lay out your make up the night before you can save yourself up to 5 maybe even 10 minutes because it takes away from the time you’d have to spend getting it out and organized! Preparing for your mornings is a big game changer and makes the mornings seem a little less frustrating!
Mornings are always going to be awful and we’re all going to dread them… but they’re inevitable! so we might as well adjust to having a better start to our day! These few hacks are honestly all so simple but can really make or break your morning!
