Good evening and happy Monday friends! I apologize that I have gone nonexistent for the last week and a half. I was preparing for my interview, had my interview, and then went on vacation. It was honestly a nice break from social media and in life general. Over this vacation I was really able to focus on my “me time” and how important it is to take breaks for yourself occasionally. I had big plans to get a lot accomplished over my vacation, but instead I dropped everything and just relaxed. I was able to catch up on a lot of sleep, Netflix lol, and I even got to recharge my mind and think about my upcoming events. I have a lot of major events coming up over the rest of the year, so taking this me time helped me relax for it and get my thoughts straight on everything.

I am sure when I say “me time” you’re probably like I have plenty of me time, I relax all the time. But are you actually relaxing and focusing on things to better yourself or are you just lying in bed watching Netflix? I find myself quiet often saying I am relaxing but it’s not really relaxing, it’s just doing something to pass the time. Me time is something crucial in taking care of yourself. There is only one of you, so it is important to take some time to focus on yourself and your needs. There is nothing wrong with taking some time off to work on yourself. During my week off, I was able to really focus on the things in my life like school and work. I was able to step back and look at both, figure out what I did and did not like, what I wanted to change, and how I was going to make these changes in my life.

I know we all do not have this opportunity to take this much time off to work on yourself, but find at least 15 minutes a day, or an hour a week to sit down and do nothing but focus on yourself. Maybe take a bubble bath and put on a face mask, go to a yoga class, listen to music, go on a walk, or whatever you like to do for yourself. Being able to do something for yourself and only focus on yourself during this time is so good for your health. You begin to learn more about yourself, your body, what you need in life. Knowing what myself and my body needs has made it easy to make changes accordingly. Taking this time to focus on yourself, will help long run because you won’t burn yourself out.

This was a shorter post, but this is pretty to the point! I hope you take some time daily or weekly to focus on yourself. I am glad I was able to take a week off to relax and focus on myself and my needs. This past week I received some exciting news, which I’ll be sharing on Friday, and really decided on what I needed in my life. Sometimes you just need to step back and reevaluate what is going on in your life because it is so easy to get wrapped up in life. Hopefully you’ll be able to take some time to focus on yourself.
