Importance of Using Presets

Happy Monday Friends! I guess Mondays are turning into blogging tips. This week I am sharing the importance of creating an aesthetic or theme throughout your social platforms. I am sure we have all seen the most “perfect” Instagram feed or a blog site that flows so smoothly. There is a reason behind that! Those people are taking their branding to the next level by creating a theme or an aesthetic on their platform. This is a huge part of setting up a successful platform. Creating this draws in the viewers’ attention due to being visually appealing… this helps keep them on your page or draws them back.

What is an Aesthetic or Theme

To first create a successful aesthetic or theme on your feed, you need to understand what they mean. A theme is to give off a setting or ambiance. For example, your theme could be nature which means you want to stick with natural colors like browns, blues, and greens. This helps your viewers feel like they are in a natural setting. An aesthetic is a set of principles that guide the way you create your content. For example, if you have a lot of mountain photos on your feed, you will want to stick with photos that compliment the mountains. This helps your viewers feel like they are following along on your journey and aren’t trying to figure out what you should be sharing.

Both topics factor into your niche. Your niche is the topic you will be focusing on. Based on the two examples before, it sounds like the person is a travel blogger or a mountain hiker. Your theme and aesthetic should complement what you want to be sharing with your viewers.

Why is this crucial?

Having an aesthetic or theme on your page is crucial. It helps give off the appropriate setting for your brand, helps create a uniformed look on your feed, shows you are serious about creating a brand and helps viewers remember you. If you go to many large company sites, they have a theme or aesthetic that you didn’t even realize. For example, Target, their color is red, and their icon is a circle with a dot in it. If you were to go on their website or Instagram page, you will see that they keep the red consistent throughout their content. When you are scrolling through social media and see the red dot, you immediately think of Target.

This is something I have struggled with for two years. I have not been able to find the “perfect” theme or aesthetic that I want to portray on my social platforms. I have been experimenting with all different types of presets to see if any stuck out to my eye. For those of you who do not know, a preset is a saved photo edit that can be copy and pasted throughout all the photos you will be sharing to give them the same feel. I have played around with presets trying to create one that suits the colors and ambiance I want to give off. But I could never find one that suited my topics.

Whats a good preset company?

Recently I have been utilizing 123Presets and I have found an edit that suits all the topics that fall under my blog. With being a lifestyle, travel and tiny living blogger, my photos can range from clothes to household products to trailer needs, so I needed an edit that works well on all my posts. 123Presets has a variety of presets that work with many different topics from travel to the beach to seasonal. If you use code PRESETS30 you will be able to receive an additional 30% off all their presets.

Creating an aesthetic or a theme on your platform is such an important part of branding your content. By implanting this you will be able to grow, leave a memory with someone, and overall leaves your page looking visually appealing to many.
